Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis Mahavidyalaya (formerly Bon Hooghly College of Commerce), established in 1965, is a general degree college in Baranagar, Kolkata. It offers undergraduate courses in arts, commerce and sciences. It is affiliated with West Bengal State University. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) visited the college in 2008 and accredited it with a ‘B’ grade. Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis Mahavidyalaya (Formerly Bon Hooghly College of Commerce) was established in 1965 as a private evening Commerce College affiliated with the University of Calcutta.

Eligibility Criteria for Shirakole Mahavidyalaya Admission 2021 – College Online Merit List

Admission Qualifications:
A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination is eligible to seek admission to the First Semester of the Six Semester B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Hons. and Gen.) or B.A. Music. (Hons. and Gen.) Course of studies provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100.

Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate taking up Honours Course in a subject must have obtained:
i) A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying exam. In the case of B. Mus. (Hons.) 45% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject Music in the pre-qualifying exam. OR ii) 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying exam. OR iii) 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying exam provided all the other clauses are satisfied. However, if in any Honours subject, the number of applications is so low that even the permitted intake of the college cannot be filled up, then the Principal may use his discretionary 3 power to reduce the minimum requirement for admission in that subject.
Candidates from other Boards:
(a) Students, who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination or its equivalent from the All India Boards/Councils or State Boards/Councils including Open Schools & vocational studies, are eligible for study at the UG level. (b) Students who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination or its equivalent from the All India Boards/Councils (i.e. CBSE, ISC and National Institute of Open Schooling) are not required to submit the Migration Certificate for getting Registration under this University. (c) Any dispute regarding eligibility criteria would be resolved by the Equivalence Committee set up by the University or by the Executive Council in its absence.
