About Midnapore College:
Midnapore College (Bengali: মেদিনীপুর মহাবিদ্যালয়), established in 1873, is the oldest college in Midnapore, in the Paschim Medinipur district. It offers undergraduate courses in arts and sciences. It is affiliated with Vidyasagar University. It has been given Autonomous status by University Grants Commission from the 2014-2015 Session. It is only the fourth aided college to be granted the tag after St Xavier’s College, Ramkrishna Mission Narendrapur and RKM Belur. The college is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). In 2006 it was accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and awarded an A+ grade. In 2012, then it was re-accredited Grade A with a 3.58 out of 4.00 CGPA Score. Now it is re-accredited and awarded by Grade A+ (CGPA-3.60 out of 4.0) by the NAAC in 2017.

Eligibility Criteria for Midnapore College Admission 2021-22 – Midnapore College Online Application
Midnapore College Admission Criteria:
Candidates who are passing the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent board/council in the years 2020/2019/2018 are eligible to apply. However, a candidate passing the 10+2 level examination before 2018 with the above-mentioned criteria can also apply after getting special permission from the Secretary, UG Council of Vidyasagar University, Paschim Medinipur.
Candidate must have passed in 5(Five)/4(Four) (where applicable) recognized subjects including at least one language subject.
Candidates who passed the vocational Course can apply in B.A. (General) Course only.
For the Honours course, the candidates must have passed with at least 45% marks in aggregate or 50% marks in subjects or related subjects in the qualifying examination.
How to Apply for the Midnapore College Online Admission 2021-22
Eligible candidates online application forms for admission will be available from the Midnapore College website – www.midnaporecollege.ac.in from starting to closing dates up to 12 p.m. (Midnight). An applicant may submit Application Forms for more than one Honours subjects, preference wise and choose two generic subjects from the list, one for 1st & 2nd semester and the other for 3rd & 4th semester corresponding to the honours subject applied for.
Students desirous of getting admission have to apply in the printed form available from the office on payment with the following documents:
1. Mark Sheet and Admit Card of previous examinations (original & two attested copies by the Head of the institution last attended.
2. Caste/PH Certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH students) from the appropriate authority.
3. School or College Leaving Certificate from the Institution last attended.
4. Two copies of passport-size photographs (unattested).
5. Transfer Certificate in case of students coming from another college.
6. Migration Certificate in case of students coming from the other University/State.
7. Certificate of proficiency in Games and Sports, Music, Dance etc.if any.
Application Fees Details:
The application fees of Rs.250/- (Rupees two hundred and fifty) only per subject has to be paid online through Payment Gateway Mode. Actual application fees on the basis of the number of subjects applied for must be submitted otherwise the form(s) will be cancelled and no refund will be made.
Midnapore College Merit List:
Admission will be strictly on a merit basis. The merit point of an applicant will be judged by taking into account 10% of the marks obtained in the best five subjects and the marks obtained in the subject applied for. Merit list for admission will be based on marks obtained in the best five subjects of WBCHSE and in the case of other Boards the candidate must have passed in 5 (Five) recognized subjects including at least one language subject in the qualifying examination.
Counselling of Midnapore College:
Admission is made strictly on the basis of merit as per the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination, keeping in view the stipulated Rules and Regulations set by the University of Vidyasagar and the Higher Education Department of State Government. There is also a provision of reservation of seat of
SC/ST/OBC/PH as per Government Rules.
