About Mahishadal Girls’ College:
Mahishadal Raj College, established in 1946, is the second oldest college in Purba Medinipur district. It offers undergraduate courses in arts, commerce and sciences. It is affiliated with Vidyasagar University. In 2016 Mahishadal Raj College has been awarded an A grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college is also recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Mahishadal Raj College was established by Mahishadal raj in 1946 at Garh Kamalpur, Mahishadal, aiming at providing low cost higher education. It was originally affiliated with the University of Calcutta until its affiliation was changed to Vidyasagar University in 1985. The college was founded on August 1, 1946, by Kumar Debaprasad Gagra Bahadur, the then “Raja” of Mahishadal.

Mahishadal Girls’ College Admission Criteria:
Candidates who are passing the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent board/council in the years 2020/2019/2018 are eligible to apply. However, a candidate passing the 10+2 level examination before 2018 with the above-mentioned criteria can also apply after getting special permission from the Secretary, UG Council of Vidyasagar University, Paschim Medinipur.
 Candidate must have passed in 5(Five)/4(Four) (where applicable) recognized subjects including at least one language subject.
 Candidates who passed the vocational Course can apply in B.A. (General) Course only.
 For the Honours course, the candidates must have passed with at least 45% marks in aggregate or 50% marks in subjects or related subjects in the qualifying examination.

Counselling of Mahishadal Girls’ College:
Admission is made strictly on the basis of merit as per the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination, keeping in view the stipulated Rules and Regulations set by the University of Vidyasagar and the Higher Education Department of State Government. There is also a provision of reservation of seat of
SC/ST/OBC/PH as per Government Rules. Students are asked to bring with them the following documents positively.

A merit list will be prepared as per relevant guidelines either from V.U. or from the Dept. of Higher Education, W.B. and the admission will be made strictly on the basis of merit panel.
