About Lalgarh Government College:
Lalgarh Government College, established in 2014, is the government degree college in Jhargram district. It offers undergraduate courses in arts. It is affiliated with Vidyasagar University. The project of setting up a Government General Degree College at Lalgarh was taken in 2012 and it was established in the year 2014 the Govt. of West Bengal’s aim to spread higher education among the less oriented areas of Junglemahal. It is one of the four govt. colleges that saw its opening in these areas of Western parts of Paschim Medinipur. The college was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee on 14th July 2014.

Lalgarh Govt. College Admission Criteria:
Candidates who are passing the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent board/council in the years 2020/2019/2018 are eligible to apply. However, a candidate passing the 10+2 level examination before 2018 with the above-mentioned criteria can also apply after getting special permission from the Secretary, UG Council of Vidyasagar University, Paschim Medinipur.
Candidate must have passed in 5(Five)/4(Four) (where applicable) recognized subjects including at least one language subject.
Candidates who passed the vocational Course can apply in B.A. (General) Course only.
For the Honours course, the candidates must have passed with at least 45% marks in aggregate or 50% marks in subjects or related subjects in the qualifying examination.
