Eligibility Criteria for IAF Recruitment 2020 – For 235 AFCAT Entry & NCC Special Entry

Age Limit & Relaxation:
(a) Flying Branch: Candidates’ age limit should have between 20 to 24 years as of 01 January 2022 i.e. born between 02 January 1998 to 01 Jan. 2002 (both dates inclusive). The upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years i.e. born between 02 January 1996 to 01 January 2002 (both dates inclusive).

(b) Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches: Candidates age limit should have between 20 to 26 years as of 01 January 2022 i.e. born between 02 January 1996 to 01 January 2002 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification:
For Flying Branch: Candidates should have passed with a minimum of 50% marks in each in Maths & Physics at 10+2 level & Graduate (3 years course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR BE/B Tech (Four Year Course) from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent OR cleared section A & B examination of associate membership of institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. Final Year/semester students are also eligible to apply, provided they do not have any present backlogs at the time of AFSB Testing and produce a Degree certificate issued by the University as per the date stipulated in the advertisement. NCC Air Wing Senior Division ā€™Cā€™ certificate and validity of the certificate would be two years before the date of advertisement.

For Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches: Candidates should have passed in Graduate Degree (Minimum three-year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with 60% marks or equivalent or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

For Ground Duty (Technical) Branches: Candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in any one of the listed disciplines.

Scale of Pay on Commissioning (As per 7th CPC):
Flying Officers should have received their pay scale of Rs. 56100-177500/- (as per defence matrix) & Rs.- 15500/- (MSP). Flight Cadets shall receive a fixed stipend of Rs. 56,100/- per month during one year of training. Candidates other allowances to know please check the official website.

Application Fee Structure:
Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs.-250/- (non-refundable) as an examination fee. However, candidates registering for NCC Special Entry examination centers & mode of payment are available in the notification.
