About Durgapur Government College:
Durgapur Government College, India, is the only government college not only in the home district of Paschim Bardhaman but also in the neighbouring districts of Bankura, Purulia and Birbhum. It was established on 15 September 1970. It is affiliated with Kazi Nazrul University. It is funded and administered by the Government of West Bengal. Direct administrative control lies with the Director of Public Instruction, Higher Education Directorate, Government of West Bengal. The college offers 3-year undergraduate degree courses in Arts, Science and Commerce as well as postgraduate courses in Geology, Conservation Biology and Chemistry.
Eligibility Criteria for Durgapur Govt. College Admission 2021-22 – Online Application
Admission Criteria:
Students who have passed the Higher Secondary examination (10+2) conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary education (W.B.C.H.S.E.) after a period of 12 years study or any other equivalent (10+2) pattern exam conducted by the I.S.C. or C.B.S.E. or any other board recognized as equivalent by the Kazi Nazrul University, provided the student has passed in at least four subjects with English as a compulsory subject, excluding Environmental Studies/Environmental Education. Those students who have obtained either (i) 55% marks in the aggregate or (ii) 50% marks in the aggregate with 60% marks in the subject in the qualifying exam shall be eligible to apply for admission to Hons. in the subject concerned in gen. categories. However, the above criterion reduces to (i) 50% marks in the aggregate or (ii) 45% marks in the aggregate with 60% marks in the subject in the qualifying exam shall be eligible to apply for admission to Hons. in the subject concerned in SC/ST categories.
How to Apply for the Durgapur Govt. College Admission 2021-22
Students who have passed the H.S. exam. in 2018, 2019 and 2020 may apply online for Admission. Students have to apply online to take admission to Durgapur Govt. College under B.A., B.Sc., B.Com Hons. & gen. ug Courses. The online portal will open after publishing the Higher Secondary (12th) result. Students can apply for B.A., B.Sc., B.Com Hons. and Gen. courses.
Documents to be produced at the time of Admission:
1. Madhyamik/Higher Secondary Certificate or some other relevant documents showing age.
2. Original Mark sheet of the last Board/University examination passed by the student.
3. School/College Leaving Certificate in original.

Admission will be conducted strictly on the basis of merit. The subject wise merit lists will be prepared based on corresponding index mark for all categories of students. SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates from only West Bengal are eligible for reservation benefits.
