About Dinabandhu Andrews College:
Dinabandhu Andrews College (Govt. Sponsored) is located in Garia, South 24 Parganas and it is affiliated to the University of Calcutta. This Co-educational college has nearly 5000 students and offers courses in 15 subjects in Science, Arts, and Commerce stream along with General courses. Not only UG courses, but this college also offers post-graduation in subjects like Electronics and Zoology. Dinabandhu Andrews College was established in the year 1956 and the college is named after freedom fighter Rev. Charles Freer Andrews. The college was constituted at the fringe of the semi-urban zone of South 24 Parganas district with an aim to disseminate the scope of higher education to a huge number of children of the displaced persons from erstwhile East Pakistan, presently Bangladesh. Being affiliated with Calcutta University, Dinabandhu Andrews College had only a few courses (Arts and Science) at the Intermediate and Undergraduate level followed by the introduction of new subjects and courses of all streams (Arts, Science, and Commerce) at the General (General) and Advance (Honours) level.

Eligibility Criteria for Dinabandhu Andrews College Online Admission 2021-22
Candidates who have passed 10+2 Examination from All India Board or Councils are eligible to apply for Hons. and General Courses in B.A./B.Sc/ B.Com and BBA Hons. (self-financed) provided they fulfil all the criteria under the University of Calcutta to study the courses. For admission in Hons. Courses in any of the streams mentioned above, a candidate belonging to General Category must secure a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject of Hons. A candidate belonging to SC/ ST/OBC-A/ OBC-B must have an aggregate of 40% and 40% marks in the subject of Hons. For admission in General Courses in any of the streams mentioned above, a candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with English as a subject containing not less than 100 marks.
