Chandrakona Vidyasagar Mahavidyalaya, also known as Chandrakona College, is an undergraduate, coeducational college situated in Chandrakona, Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal. It was established in the year 1985. The college is affiliated with Vidyasagar University. Chandrakona Vidyasagar Mahavidyalaya was established in 1985 following the recommendation of the Bhabatosh Dutta Commission. In its budding stage, this college was built with the generous help of all classes people of Chandrakona I & II Block and a small part of Keshpur and Garhbeta Block. Chandrakona Vidyasagar Mahavidyalaya Admission Criteria:
For B.A./B.Sc. Hons. Subjects: Candidates passing Higher Secondary Examination conducted by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent board/council in the year (2015/2016/2017) are eligible for apply for Honours course from Arts group with the following subjects 1.Bengali, 2.English, 3.History, 4.Economics, 5.Geography, 6. Sanskrit and from Science group with the following subjects 1.Physics, 2.Mathematics, 3.Computer Science provided that the candidate must have passed in 5(Five)/4(Four) (where applicable) recognized subjects including at least one language subject with at least 45% marks in aggregate or 50% marks in subjects or related subjects in the qualifying examination.
For B.A./B.Sc. Gen. Subjects: Candidates passing Higher Secondary Examination conducted by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent Board/Council in the year 2014/2015/2016 are eligible to apply for General course in Arts group with subjects 1.Bengali, 2.English, 3.History, 4.Philosophy, 5.Political Science, 6.Physical Education, 7.Education, 8.Geography 9.Economics 10. Sanskrit and in Science group with the subjects 1.Physics, 2.Chemistry 3.Mathematics 4.Computer Science provided that the candidate must have passed in 5(Five)/4(Four) (where applicable) recognized subjects including at least one language subject.

Chandrakona Vidyasagar Mahavidyalaya Counselling:
Admission is made strictly on the basis of merit as per the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination, keeping in view the stipulated Rules and Regulations set by the University of Vidyasagar and the Higher Education Department of State Government. There is also a provision of reservation of seat of
SC/ST/OBC/PH as per Government Rules.
