About Bhairab Ganguly College:
Bhairab Ganguly College is a college in Belgharia, in the district of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India, that was set up on 3 September 1968. It is currently affiliated with the West Bengal State University. It was formerly affiliated with the University of Calcutta. Bhairab Ganguly College is co-educational and offers three-year degree courses in all three main streams of Humanities, Science, and Commerce. Since 1997-98, vocational courses in Advertising, Sales Promotion and Sales Management, sponsored by University Grants Commission (UGC), have been introduced at the degree level. Sometime in 1955, Sri Jibandhan Ganguly, a renowned social worker and educationist from Belgharia, donated about 11 bighas of land to the West Bengal Government for the setting up of a degree college in Belgharia for the teaching of arts, science, and commerce.

Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination is eligible to seek admission to the First Semester of the Six Semester B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Hons. and Gen.) the course of studies provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100. A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. OR 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. OR 50% marks in aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied. Students, who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination or its equivalent from the All India Boards/Councils or State Boards/Councils including Open Schools and vocational studies, are eligible for study at the UG level. Students who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination or its equivalent from the All India Boards/Councils (i.e. CBSE, ISC and National Institute of Open Schooling) are not required to submit the Migration Certificate for getting Registration under this University. Any dispute regarding eligibility criteria would be resolved by the Equivalence Committee set up by the University or by the Executive Council in its absence.

Bhairab Ganguly College Merit List:
Admission will be conducted strictly on the basis of merit. The subject wise merit lists will be prepared based on corresponding index mark for all categories of students. SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates from only West Bengal are eligible for reservation benefits.
